Patrol Division
Canton Police Department's Patrol Division consists of the department's uniformed road patrol officers performing traffic enforcement and responding to calls for service 24/7. In addition, patrol officers are assigned or participate in numerous special units established to enhance the delivery of service to the community.

Special Enforcement Unit
SEU officers primary duty is traffic enforcement, including responding to traffic complaints generated by residents.

School Resource Officers
SROs are stationed at Canton, Plymouth, and Salem High Schools to promote positive relationships and communication between the police, students, parents, and educators.

TEAM
The Teaching, Educating, and Mentoring program (TEAM) is taught in Canton's elementary and middle schools.

K-9 Unit
Canine units respond to all types of calls, including burglaries, missing persons, narcotic searches, and traffic stops.

Bicycle Patrol Unit
Speed and mobility are hallmarks of the department's Bicycle Patrol Unit.

Honor Guard
The Honor Guard is called upon several times per year to provide posting of the colors at various public events, as well as to provide honor guard services at funerals for fallen officers.

Evidence Technician Unit
The mission of the unit is to collect and process evidence from crime scenes as well as give court testimony on criminal cases.

Mobile Command Unit
Public Safety owns a state-of-the-art mobile command unit, designed to function as an off-site headquarters for police and fire personnel.
